Kitty Ellyson, LCPC
I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, NH. In addition to reading in my field, I attend conferences and contract for ongoing training and consultation on a frequent basis.
My training and experience cover a wide variety of populations and treatment modalities. I am trained to work with individuals of all ages, though I have special experience working with adults managing anxiety in all it’s forms, pregnancy and perinatal hormonal challenges, menopausal hormone challenges, and aging parents. My practice is diverse and often full but it’s always worth a call! I have been practicing since 2001.
My Approach
You can expect to be warmly welcomed and our work together may feel as much like a conversation as anything else. My overall philosophy is that your mind, heart and body know how to heal whatever ails you if you can learn to listen to it.
When we meet for the first time we will go over the Treatment Agreement and you can ask any questions you may have. We will then spend the rest of the 50 minute session simply talking, getting to know one another and determining if working together is a good fit. It is extremely important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and I will be happy to give you another referral if that person isn’t me.
Psychotherapy is an extremely rewarding investment. If you are willing to do the work, you can expect to feel more capable of coping with painful feelings, experience more satisfaction with your life and peace within yourself.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
